In the Episode of ABA On Call:
Instructional design (ID) is the practice of systematically designing instruction to create productive, and positive learning outcomes. ID has a generic model called ADDIE which represents five critical ID components: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The present shows discusses how the ID components are important to behavior analysts. We highlight Development and Evaluation and dive into each step providing examples and a rationale for how behavior analysts can improve their practice by implementing design features into their programs.

Define Instructional design as a system for creating a learning program or curriculum that leads to a positive and productive behavior change outcome.
Describe Development as the phase where behavior analysts will assemble and create programming based on the Design phase.
Describe Evaluation as the phase where behavior analysts will assess whether their program meets their instructional/behavioral objectives.
